Mohammad Reza Lotfi is among the greatest musicians of Iran who was born in 1947. He was renowned in instruments such as Tar, Setar and Kamancheh, and had trained famous students such as Ardashir Kamkar and Hamid Motebassem. He is considered as a major character in revolutionizing the Persian traditional music. Some of his famous vocal works are Sepideh, Karevan-e Shahid and Love Knows. He died in 2014 at the age of 64 in Tehran due to his prostate cancer.
