Babak Bayat, a prominent Iranian composer and musician, whose original name was Ali Hussein Bayat Zarandi Motlagh, was born in Tehran on June 13, 1946. At the age of nineteen, he joined the Tehran Opera and worked with the band for five years. He made his way into the music industry by making music for a movie called Gharibeh and earned numerous honors and awards during his professional career, including Crystal Simorgh, Best Music for movies, called Aroos, Sarzamin-e Khorshid and Marde Shabihe Baran. He finally died in Tehran on November 26, 2006 at the age of 60.
