Michael Niavarani is an Iranian-Austrian stand-up comedian, author and actor in the cinema and television. Since 1992, he has been director of the Kabarett Simpl, a famous Viennese cabaret that opened its doors in 1912. In 2010, Niavarani won the Austrian Cabaret Award. He has also won the Austrian Cabaret Award three times so far. He has always performed in two languages and expresses Iranian culture. He also starred in the film Salami Aleikum, which portrays the problems of an Iranian family in Germany.
